In this paper, we propose an integrated strategy to combine a storage location assignment problem with a capacitated lot-sizing planning, which is motivated by a real-world case. The joint multi-item storage location assignment capacitated lot-sizing problem determines when and how much to produce for each product, and simultaneously determines where to place the productsin the warehouse based on a dedicated storage policy. A mixed integer linear programming model is developed with the objective of minimizing the total costs of production, setup, storage, handling, and reserving space. It also ensuresthe availability of warehouse space in the planning horizon. The model and solution approaches are verified though different size of instances.
