Abstract
In this paper, a simple and robust technique is proposed for estimation of parameters characterizing electrical machine based on experimentally obtained load data under running condition. The equivalent circuit parameters of three phase induction motor and single-phase transformer have been estimated from load data obtained from the experiments. Data was analyzed employing particle swarm optimization technique and H-G diagram based resistance estimation technique. Estimated parameters have been compared with the corresponding values obtained through classical test procedure recommended by IEEE. Comparative study shows that, the proposed technique can reliably be used to estimate the parameters of electrical machines.
